Vincent, when you won the cup with Montreal in 1993, what did you do with it on your one day with it?

Vincent Damphousse
I had it at the end of August and I had all my family and buddies come to my house. We took pictures with it and had a buffet going with family and friends. I didn't do anything to crazy, I just wanted as many poeple in my family see it as possible.

Hey Vinne!

With so many accomplishments and great hockey memories, which one do you think is the most memorable? Thanks for your time. GO SHARKS!!!!

Vincent Damphousse
Winning the cup in 93 in Montreal. That is every NHL player's dream and I won it on my first try. The MVP at the all-star game in Chicago was nice too. The cup is the ultimate though.

hey vinny, do you think that sharks will finish the season strong?

Vincent Damphousse
I think so. We were playing very well before the break and everyone is healthy. I think we will peak at the right time. We want first in our division and can still be second in the conference.

Hi Vinnie!
What else would you like to accomplish in your NHL career? Do you have any specific goals you would like to meet?
Thanks!
Chuck

Vincent Damphousse
I would like to play four more years and play 20 years in the league. That is a personal goal, but the important thing is to get past the second round with San Jose. I think the people in San Jose would like to see our team take the extra step. It's very exciting once you get to the final four teams.

How was the all star game?
What was your favorite part?

Vincent Damphousse
My favorite part was that my dad, brother, uncle and a friend, along with my fiancee's family could make it. Both sides of the family were there and we were able to get together for the first time this year.

Also, it was nice on the ice. It had been 10 years since I last played in the game and it was nice to see the new guys and the ones that were there when I was there.

Vincent Damphousse
I'd probably be an accountant. I always liked math when I was in school. By the way, Canada just went up 1-0 in the women's Olympic game for the gold medal.

Hey vinnie,
You are such a great player and the Sharks are lucky to have you! My question is who do you spend the most time with on the team? Thanks for your time
*jenn*

Vincent Damphousse
I get along with Stephane Matteau well. He is my roommate on the road. I also play golf a lot with Todd Harvey because he is a bad player and I can take his money.

Vinnie,
Since you were injured and could not play in last years All Star game, how did it feel to be voted on to start in this year's game? And how excited were you when you scored the first goal of the game?
Keep up the great work
Heidi

Vincent Damphousse
My first will always be special, but it was good to be back. I got back because the fans voted for me. I owe a lot to San Jose fans. I was surprised to be ahead of some of the other guys. You did a lot for Owen Teemu and me.

The goal felt great since it was 20 seconds in. Our first four goals in the game were from our line. Nolan played well and Daze got the car.

Hey Vinnie,

Do you have a specific team that you enjoy playing against the most? Which is the toughest goaltender to score on? Thanks for being such a steady, consistant player. We always can count on you 100%. Great job and best of luck in the playoffs this year.

Linda

Vincent Damphousse
I would say Hasek on a breakaway even though I have scored a few on him. He is very hard to figure out and seems to be leaning the right way all the time. The overall best goalie is Patrick Roy

Vincent,
Congrats on a great career. I'm glad you're with the Sharks. Do you miss the scrutiny and fame that goes with playing with the Canadiens in Montreal, or do you prefer less public and media scrutiny of being in Northern California? Good luck the rest of the season!!

Vincent Damphousse
It is not better or worse. I don't prefer either city to the other. I enjoyed Montreal, but the time was right for me to come to San Jose. I wouldn't change a thing. It is nice to relax a little bit at home. I enjoyed both.

What is your fave sport in the winter olimpics besides hockey?

Vincent Damphousse
I've watched everything. The speed skating is great and I've watch all the skiing. I'm a big fan of the Olympics. There are great stories because you don't hear about most of those sports. Then when they can come through in the big moments is makes for special moments. They only get one shot at it.

Mr Damphousse,
The Sharks are so close to being a top contenders. In my opinon you guys have great team it just seems that you guys might be missing just one key element. In your opinion what is the one thing that the Sharks are either missing or lacking to be in that number one spot each year and winning the Stanley Cup.

Vincent Damphousse
I think you can always improve. If we made a move at the deadline it would help if we don't give a lot for it. That is how I got to San Jose. We have a good chance to compete with the top four teams. Now we can change that. After that anything can happen in the playoffs. We have to understand that we can be upset if we are favored in the playoffs. We have to keep our head level.

Vinnie,
I know a lot of players have pre-game rituals. Do you have any rituals that you consistantly follow? And what are you planning to do during the Olympic break? Have a great rest of the season and good luck!!
Heidi

Vincent Damphousse
I used to have a lot more, but not as many now that I'm older. With superstitions, if you forget something it can get to your head. I have a routine, but nothing that I have to do. I like to come in early and just relax and prepare.

Vinnie:
What will be the key(s) to the Sharks maintaining first place through the end of the season? Health? Nabby? Intensity? Something else? Are you at all worried that the guys who played in the Olympics may be out of gas once they rejoin the team?
Go Sharks!

Vincent Damphousse
Consistency. We have had really good stretches and then we have lost some. If we beat the teams ahead of us, it will be great for our confidence and put us up in the standings. We have three games against LA and Dallas. If we win those games it will be difficult for them to catch us. We have to

Thanks chatting with me. I'm going to finish watching the Canada-U.S. game. I don't like the power play the U.S. has right now.
